Project Overview

Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s latest Cloverdale campus stands as a shining example of contemporary education, specifically tailored to support trades, technology, and applied training programs. This state-of-the-art facility boasts expansive, flexible shop spaces that are seamlessly integrated with a high-profile public ‘street,’ a well-equipped library, and a series of office blocks.

The campus’s centerpiece is the double-height ‘street,’ a dynamic space that not only connects various program elements but also fosters a vibrant student life. This ‘street’ is an architectural marvel, featuring an inside/outside glulam structure and vibrant colored glazing. It offers a variety of seating arrangements at different levels, creating an inviting atmosphere for students to gather, study, and socialize. Additionally, the ‘street’ provides direct access to the school’s private garden, presenting a serene escape from the bustling campus life.

  • The innovative design of the Cloverdale campus has not gone unnoticed. It received the prestigious ‘Wood Design Building Award’ for its exceptional use of wood, highlighting the sustainable and aesthetic qualities of the material. Furthermore, the campus is Certified LEED Gold, underscoring its commitment to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. This certification reflects the designs dedication to creating a green and sustainable learning environment for the students and staff.
